House Votes to Hold the VA Accountable and to Provide Better Care For Our Heroes

July 29, 2015

Today, the House of Representatives passed the VA Accountability Act of 2015 to hold the Veterans Administration accountable for its failures, and to improve care for veterans. Since the waitlist scandal was uncovered, only a few employees have been fired and others have been allowed to remain on paid suspension for an extended period of time.

Representative John Moolenaar (R-Midland) voted in support of the legislation and made the following statement.

"This legislation is about better care for our veterans. The federal employees who misled veterans and denied them care need to be held accountable and should not be paid by taxpayers. I believe our veterans deserve the best care and the utmost respect for their service to our country. It's time for the VA to hold employees accountable and provide better care our nation's heroes."
