House Advances 2024 Appropriations Package
Moolenaar Requests to Benefit Cadillac, Ferris State University, Kent County, Midland County, Saginaw Chippewa Tribe, Shelby, and Sparta Included in Legislation
Today the House of Representatives passed appropriations legislation for the rest of the federal government’s 2024 fiscal year. Congressman John Moolenaar voted in favor of the legislation.
The legislation includes cuts to multiple federal agencies, including the FBI, EPA, and ATF, while fully-funding veterans’ health care at the Veterans Administration. The bill also contains funding for community projects requested by Moolenaar that will benefit communities in Michigan’s Second Congressional District.
“Under President Biden, out-of-control spending has become the norm, but today’s appropriations bill serves as an important step to get America back on track. This legislation will cut wasteful spending at federal agencies and ensure our veterans are taken care of,” said Moolenaar “I am also proud my work on the House Appropriations Committee to bring vital funding to the Second District to benefit our communities. This funding will address flooding issues in Midland County, renovate the fire house in Sparta, build new housing in Cadillac, build a park in Shelby, and help the Saginaw Chippewa tribe renovate its water treatment facilities.”
