Health Care

America is a global leader in health care. However, that leadership status was put at risk with the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

I know that our country can provide access to quality health care for every American by repealing this law and improving our current system. In order to achieve this goal we need to focus on these principles of reform:

• Lower health care premiums

• A guarantee of affordable coverage for patients with pre-existing conditions

• Protection of Medicare benefits for seniors

• A plan that strengthens the doctor-patient relationship

• Enacting tort-reform

I believe we can accomplish health care reform the American people want without having a government takeover of our health care system, without raising taxes or premiums, and without forcing citizens to buy health insurance they do not want or cannot afford.

July 24, 2018 Press Release

Today, the House of Representatives passed the Native American Health Savings Improvement Act (H.R. 1476) introduced by Congressman John Moolenaar.

The legislation improves access to federal Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) for Native Americans who receive services at Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities.

Right now, Native Americans must wait three months after receiving care at an Indian Health Service facility before they can make a contribution to their HSAs again.

It also has funding to care for our veterans and to find cures in the fight against cancer and Alzehmier's. Finally, this legislation increases funding for roads and bridges and does more to secure our country's borders."
