Moolenaar Statement on Funding the Department of Homeland Security
Today, the House passed legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security through March 7, 2015. Representative John Moolenaar (R-Midland) released the following statement:
“I voted to fund the Department of Homeland Security to keep America safe from the threat of terrorism. Because of ISIS and other threats to our security we must do what we can to prevent them from striking the United States.
“The federal courts have already prohibited President Obama’s executive orders on immigration from being implemented. The president himself said twenty-two times that he could not use executive authority on immigration. This overreach and abuse of power must be reviewed and stopped by the judicial branch of government.”
